We (Bob and Sheryl) met online on January 1, 2022. For a few months, we just texted and talked on the phone, but we were having enough fun that we decided to meet in person on May 17, 2022, at Panera Bread in Chandler, AZ.
Sheryl lived in Goodyear and Bob lived in Gilbert, so a one-hour commute each way helped us take things slowly, which was great because both of us had overactive caution-ometers. Ournext meeting wasn’t until July 2022, at Cornerstone Church in Scottsdale. At that meeting, small sparks started to fly, and wedefinitely saw some potential, so after our ‘official’ first date in September, we continued to meet, mostly halfway between Goodyear and Gilbert. Finally, in November 2022 we worked up the courage to tell our families we were seeing each other, and in October 2023, Sheryl sold her home and moved within 20 miles of Bob.
In the spring of 2024, we decided to take a leap in our relationship and start premarital counseling with the two pastors who will marry us. When asked how we resolved conflict, we answered, "We don't have conflict." Then the REAL fun began.😉 Eventually, we decided to take the plunge by buying a house, getting engaged, and planning a wedding. Moving, selling both homes, purchasing a new home, and planning a wedding has been quite an adventure!
Through it all, God has been our steadfast guidance counselor. God will fulfill Philippians 1:6, strengthening and deepening our love every day. We want to express our profound thanks to Bob's brother and wife (Tom and Debbie) and Sheryl's nephew and niece (Isaac and LeQuta), who have helped us bridge our lives from singlehood to marriage by offering us the unbelievable gift of allowing us to live in their homes for the last few months.
We’re excited to share our love story with you and see it keep unfolding in the days ahead!
